Woodward Dream A Parade For The Corvette Pantry

Corvette 2000

With the Detroit Woodward Dream Cruise in full swing spectators will be able to see a load of activities which awaits car enthusiasts this week.

One of the most favorite events at the annual cruise is the world’s largest one-day celebration of classic car culture which took place yesterday.

The 10-year-old Corvettes on Woodward fundraiser event (brainchild of Larry Courtney, Michigan Captain of the 10th Anniversary National Corvette Caravan in 2014) zoomed along Michigan’s favorite highway. The participants raised funds for one of Courtney’s favorite charities — Open Hands Food Pantry of Royal Oak, MI.

There were at least 500 Corvettes where each driver donated funds for the charity gathered at the event, held at the Radisson Hotel on Woodward Avenue in Bloomfield Hills. A variety of sponsors attended, including big wigs such as: Matick Chevy, West Bloomfield Township, MI-based Cauley Performance Automotive, Sawyer, MI-based Corvette Central and others. Later in the evening the Corvettes headed south on Woodward in an amazing vroom and zoom parade.

The Dream Cruise attracts more than 1 million visitors annually, and more than 40,000 muscle cars, street rods, custom, collector and special-interest vehicles. It’s a sight for car enthusiasts to behold and marvel. For the Corvettes on Woodward fundraiser, attendees came from as far away as places like Sweden where that particular driver had his ‘Vette flown in for the event.
